I Migliori Album Progressive Rock del 2001
An International Guide
Tanti sono gli esordi promettenti e tante le conferme, gruppi che si ripresentano con nuova verve compositiva a tante nuove fantasiose idee.
Iniziamo con il secondo album del supergruppo Transatlantic dal titolo "Bridge Across Forever", definibile, capolavoro senza tempo.
Imperdibili i nuovi entusiasmanti lavori di, A.C.T., Nexus, Mostly Autumn, e Pendragon che con il nuovo album "Not Of This World" confermano la loro eccezionale vena melodica, Le Orme che con il nuovo album "Elementi" si rifanno il trucco, sempre nel segno del Rock Progressivo Italiano, gli Yes che non potevano scegliere migliore titolo per questo loro nuovo album "Magnification", vista la magnificenza del loro intramontabile sound, i Flower Kings con "Rainmaker" con il loro solito sound tecnico e trascinante, e poi ancora Pallas, Malibran e i tanti altri album postati qui sotto.
Gli esordi sono altrettanto appassionanti, i Magenta con l'album "Revolution" sono le prima vera rivelazione di quest'anno. Revolution è un album stupendo che non conosce pause, un Neo Prog moderno e personale, sempre in crescendo dal primo all'ultimo solco del disco. Altri esordi di rilievo per gli Statunitensi Bubblemath, i Francesi Seven Reitz, Vital Duo e Skeem (l'album dal titolo omonimo di quest'ultimo è considerato uno dei migliori album di Neo Prog Francese), gli Italiani La Torre Dell'Alchimista e Submarine Silence, i Brasiliani Arion, i Tedechi Alias Eye, i Canadesi Amadryad etc.etc.
Una particolare menzione spetta all'esordio discografico degli Inglesi The Lens con l'album "A Word In Your Eye" perchè trattasi del gruppo dove militavano Holmes e Orford, si tratta infatti di registrazioni del periodo 1977/1981, album per molti versi imperdibile dove già traspare la struttura melodico/ritmica degli IQ.
